Organic farming is the production method taking into consideration the principles of natural cycling of substances where basic equilibrium relations govern between the soil, plants and animals. Such a system can successfully restore the used substances and functions on its own, but only in harmonized interaction of all the elements. In Estonia, the term “organic farming” was introduced in the Organic Farming Act adopted in 1997. The term “ecological farming” is used as a synonym.
